Electronic Voice Verification

What is it about?

MSU is transitioning to a new EVV Vendor July 1st, 2016. MSU has scheduled mandatory provider training as the new software is markedly different than the previous platform. By attending this training, providers will be given adequate direction and time to prepare for the changes.

EVV training is presented in two formats

The first format is a comprehensive, one-day EVV training. These in-person trainings provide contract providers with exposure to the software that is used for billing and offer direction for providers, which will prepare them to begin the process of submitting electronic billing as required for reimbursement for services.
The second format is a condensed, two-hour web-conference training. Several instances of this training are made available to the provider community. It is fast paced and module-based. This training format focuses on the key elements of the Authenticare product. As it is presented live, it allows for real-time Q and A.

Both trainings are intended to “train the trainer” and participants are expected to assimilate information from the training for the purpose of relaying what was learned to other members of their organization as deemed appropriate.

The training is intended to provide an overview of the process for billing services but providers are not expected to submit billing through the EVV immediately upon completing the training. Use of the EVV is mandatory.

Who should attend?

Typically one to three participants from each agency are invited to attend. When deciding who should attend, please consider the following:

  • It may be advantageous to have agency representatives attend that have the authority and responsibility to direct and train other staff.
  • Staff given the responsibility for claims and billing would benefit from receiving the training.
  • It is recommended a maximum of three staff attend the training in order to address future attrition within your organization.

Why should I attend?

ADvantage contracted services must be documented through an Interactive Voice Response Authentication and Electronic Visit Verification system (policy OAC 317:35-17-22).
